description To understand notion of wandering, of everyday life on the streets and in the charitable environments, to understand what « home » and « to be homeless » mean, in a collective accommodation, in council housing, or in a lodging house, requires the mobilization of a methodological anthology. « Space » is here considered as a transitional object to allow the interviewed person to speak about him or herself. The discussion is facilitated by the reconstitution of the residential history through graphic descriptions or photos of living quarters or during the urban pathways documentary. This study approach enlightens the processes and various actors involved in homeless and poor housing situations. These methods also contribute to questioning the posture, the implication, the legitimacy and the limitations of the sociologist in his practice.
