Summary:This paper presents finding of a survey on manufacturing strategy implementation (MSI) adopted by the Indian packaging product manufacturing companies (IPPMC). Though the companies differ in terms of prod uct types (shape, method, content and material of packaging), conversion system, sales volume and sophistication of machinery used, they share common purpose that are used for packaging the product s . With growth in demand for consumer products, packaging f orms basis of differentiating products from competitors. The survey shows emphasis on implementation of manufacturing strategy, key decision areas, identifies competitive priorities, order winners. To get insight, three companies are selected for detailed case studies.
