description Corticosteroids are drugs widely used in medical practice due to their potent anti-inflammatory and immunomodulatory effect. Although most of the adverse reactions are well known, allergic reactions are uncommon. Hydrocortisone and methylprednisolone are the most commonly implicated drugs. An estimated 0.3% incidence of allergic reactions, some of them severe, has been estimated, so the possibility of their occurrence should be considered when these medications are used.
