The room-temperature crystal structure of the title complex was previously reported in the orthorhombic space group Pna21 [Musitu & Garcia-Blanco (1984). Acta Cryst. A40, C101]. The low-temperature structure presented herein represents a different (higher symmetry) orthorhombic space group Pnma whereby the PtII atom lies on a mirror plane, lacking in the earlier study.
