description | Climate change and global warming influenced different global nations. Still, their consequences are noted clearly and increasingly. Scholars investigated revolutional methods and pivotal techniques that could overcome the severe impacts of those problems. Renewable Energy (RE) systems have offered multiple contributory benefits for global communities, meeting broad worldwide acceptance. Some developing areas, like Maan, faced challenging obstacles hindering optimal energy security status. Maan is the largest province in Jordan, located in the southern Jordanian zones. Local citizens still face lower urbanization rates, poor governmental support, and fair economic growth, knowing that Maan is characterized by great and abundant solar irradiation levels (≈ 4 to 7 kW h/m2/day) and nearly 300 sunny days annually. This article conducts a comprehensive review regarding the current trends and future prospects of urbanization levels and RE implementation in Maan. Furthermore, Maan witnessed dramatic population growth lately, reaching 187,600 in 2022, which would drive the province into a worrisome degree of energy security, translated by stressful electricity demands and exhausted energy infrastructure. Renewables adoption in Maan or in any city worldwide could offer feasible energy security solutions and sustainable development on the long-term. The developed framework in this paper comprised valuable strategies for high officials to resolving Maani worrying energy situation. |
