Description
Summary:The purpose of this paper is to analyses hyposegmentations (e.g. “de novo” to “de novo”) and hypersegmentations (e.g. “de pois” to “de pois”) with the aim to discuss how these data structure reveal clues related to prepositional clitics prosodization of Brazilian Portuguese. Based on the theory framework about clitics prosodization, (NESPOR; VOGEL, 1986, 2007; SELKIRK, 1984, 2004; VOGEL, 2009; VIGÁRIO, 2007), we present (i) how the syntactic-semantic relation between the clinic and the host — e.g. in hypossegmentation — and the spelling of pretonic syllables as clitic — e.g. hypersegmentation — suggest different grade of prosodic dependence of preposicional clitics; and (ii) as grade of dependence indicate the domain prosodization of investigated clitics.
