Summary:Gastrointestinal stromal tumors are the most common mesenchymal tumors of gastrointestinal tract. Stomach is the most common site for the GIST, followed by small intestine. They may present as bleeding and obstruction. They usually grow exophytically, invading adjacent organs. Lymph node metastasis is less common. Intussusception is a rare presentation for this tumor. This case highlights the importance of high index of suspicion which is required to diagnose the rare cause of intestinal obstruction.
