| description | Demographic aging is a concerning phenomenon in world scenario. For society, this means changing cultural perception of the elder, and for this one, to raise skills. In our country, it takes high rates. Villa Clara province has the oldest population, and in it, Placetas municipality is the most aged as well, and the second of the country with the highest aging rates; that is why the treatment of the elder, topic of interest from an ethic point of view, turns out to be one of the social priorities nowadays.
This work is aimed in determining the prevalent bioethical tendencies in the treatment of the elder´s families in Placetas, for transforming the relationship with this age group. Several methods were applied like documentary analysis, semi-standardized and non-standardized interviews and observation. Results confirmed the prevalence of a personalistic approach and the ethic of care; although, with an assistant bias which diminish the active role of elderlies in their routine; besides declaring the boom of the utilitarian tendency. The study is a contribution from local university, helping in the work being done by some institutions in which their social purpose is included family care and mainly elders´ care; at the same time, it may contribute to enhance consciousness and preparation of family members and assistants, with respect to the need of symmetric bonds in their relation with elders, taking into account the levels of assistance this age eventually needs. / RESUMEN El envejecimiento demográfico es un fenómeno preocupante en el escenario mundial. Ello significa, para la sociedad, cambiar la percepción cultural del adulto mayor y potenciar las capacidades para este grupo de personas. En Cuba, adquiere valores elevados. Villa Clara es la provincia más envejecida y, en ella, Placetas es el segundo municipio más envejecido y uno de los que mayores índices presenta en el país, por lo que el tratamiento al adulto mayor, asunto de interés desde el punto de vista bioético, deviene hoy una de las prioridades sociales. El trabajo tiene como objetivo determinar las corrientes bioéticas predominantes en el tratamiento de las familias al adulto mayor en Placetas, en función de la transformación de la relación con este grupo etario. Fueron empleados el análisis de documentos; la entrevista semiestandarizada y no estandarizada y la observación. Los resultados constataron el predominio del enfoque personalista y de ética del cuidado; aunque con un sesgo asistencialista que frena el papel activo de los adultos mayores en su cotidianeidad; además de aseverar el auge de la corriente utilitarista. El estudio, resulta una contribución desde la Universidad local, en función del trabajo que realizan instituciones en cuyo encargo social se incluye la atención a la familia y -de manera particular- a los adultos mayores; al mismo tiempo puede contribuir a la concientización y preparación de familiares y cuidadores respecto a la necesidad de que se manifiesten vínculos simétricos en la relación con los adultos mayores, teniendo en cuenta los niveles de ayuda que progresivamente requiere la ancianidad. |
