Pharmaco-invasive Approach to Acute Coronary Syndrome with Acute Thrombotic Occlusion: A Tough Enemy to Conquer

ABSTRACT Acute occlusion of a Saphenous Vein Graft (SVG) is commonly associated with extensive atherosclerotic and thrombotic burden, which increases the risk of distal embolisation and no reflow and thus myocardial infarction and death. To decrease the risk of distal embolisation, embolic protecti...

description ABSTRACT Acute occlusion of a Saphenous Vein Graft (SVG) is commonly associated with extensive atherosclerotic and thrombotic burden, which increases the risk of distal embolisation and no reflow and thus myocardial infarction and death. To decrease the risk of distal embolisation, embolic protection devices are used. This case report is about two elderly patients admitted with Acute Coronary Syndrome (ACS) due to acute thrombotic SVG occlusion that was recanalized through the complementary nature of two strategies.
