description The purpose of the article. The process of evolution of composer’s and performer’s style as a phenomenon of music culture which has historically formed in guitar art is considered in the article. The theoretical aspects of the problem are revealed on the basis of the analysis of scientific works devoted to the search of communicative interaction between the composer and the performer. The research methodology was based on the methods of analysis and systematization of scientific information and the experience of the composer’s and performer’s activity in the genre of guitar music. The historical method is applied in the context of revealing the regularities of combining the composer’s creative work and the performer’s activity. The scientific novelty lies in substantiating the notion of composer’s and performer’s style as a separate unique phenomenon in music culture. Conclusions. The study of the historical stages of guitar music evolution and the generalization of guitar performing experience showed that the composer’s and performer’s style which had been historically rooted in music culture was dominating both at the early stages of guitar art, which started in the middle of the 20th century, and nowadays. The given topic is quite prospective for further scientific research in terms of studying the process of formation of composer’s and performer’s style in the different historic periods through the examples of prominent guitar performers’ creative work. The results of such research will provide for the correct definition of the strategy of the development of guitar performing in modern music art.
