Description
Summary:The article´s main objective is to examine the permanence, changes and transformations of populism in Mexico, to do that it examines critically the diverse theory proposals than have been discussed about this category (populism), proposing the predominance of a view that has exaggerated the populisms in Latin America. Afterwards, starting from the contributions of Almond and Powell, it presents an historical and political balance of Mexican populisms from the predemocratic/postdemocratic dichotomist view. Using as example the political actions generated under the fi gures of Vicente Fox and Andrés Manuel López Obrador.
