Description
Summary:Fiber reinforced cementitious composites have in the construction industry coverage with increasing interest. Slurry infiltrated mat concrete (SIMCON), which are one of the fiber reinforced cementitious composites, are used for retrofitting purposes. In this study, different types of cements were used as binding phase in SIMCON production and the effects of these cements on SIMCON properties were investigated. For this aim, normal Portland cements with and without additive and calcium aluminate cements which gained early strength were preferred as binders. The changes in the physical and mechanical properties of SIMCON composites were examined by performing unit weight, ultrasonic pulse time, bending and compressive strength tests on the specimens taken from SIMCON production. It has been determined that the cement type significantly effects the mechanical and physical properties of SIMCON composites.
