| Summary: | Acronyms are a type of abbreviation, a word (lexicon) formation process that consists in reducing a succession of words to a single word, thus the acronym is one signification, which has two significant. The question that arises here is to know if the readers of the French-speaking Algerian press, are able to find the initial continuation of words to which are attached to the acronyms.
In newspapers, the acronym appears alone, without its gloss, and in the absence of any explanation, how to interpret the acronym, therefore to understand the speech of press.
This article suggests answering this question, through an investigation led with readers of the "Quotidien d’Oran". The results are exposed in this article. |
