Description
Summary:In this paper, the novel ofTehran-e Makhuf, written by Morteza Moshfeghe Kazemi, is critisized from the sociological perspective. The viewpoints of the prominent critics, such as Hegel, Lucas and Goldman are initially presented, and then on the basis of their theories, the criticism of the novel is offered. The conclusion derived from this research demonstrates that the novelist has structured his work based on the prevailing intellectual stream after the Mashrute movement and before Reza Khan's political authority. In fact, Tehran-e Makhof is an artistic narration of the defeat of the Mashrute movement and support of the idea of despotism. To do a more profound investigation, the researcher had to briefly look at the historical events of the Mashrute and the coup of Sayyid Ziya and the initial preparations for the emerge of a modem dictatorship.
