Summary:This paper discusses preliminaries results of an evaluation research on services experience of Integrative and Complementary Practices in the city of Vitória-ES. Aims to analyze how the decisions of economics and politics affect the social right to health materialized in the SUS, using as basic the experience of PICs. The methodological procedures of a qualitative nature were defined from the critical perspective of analysis of class society. The results identified at although the experience has started in 1992 it consisted not in sufficient condition for a more significant consolidation. Is was found that PICs is subjected to the same contradictions that permeate the SUS management and still fall on them restrictions related to disagreement among health paradigms. It concludes that despite the respondents consider themselves committed to the institutionalization of PICs; it turns out in the daily practice there are still many restrictions to the model.
