Description
Summary:This research conducted in the field of Mathematics Education refers to a history of the Normal School in Belem The starting point: 1950s; to the last: the 1970s, as in 1971 for the enactment of Law 5,692 / 71. Question: What and how Mathematics was mobilized? We use a priori the documentary sources in the institution: the decree-law, the individual records, list of names of students and teachers. The research was permeated by other questions as: What were the subjects and the contents, in the Normal School, which were part of teacher training? As these contents were mobilized? In addition to the documentary sources interviews were held with two teachers of the institution as well as the intersection with the reference: Certeau (2011); Chartier (2002); Chervel (1990); Thompson (1992) and Brazilian authors: Valente (2009) and Mendes (2012). Purpose implement considerations about the Normal School and as Mathematical content for the training of the students were mobilized. This research obtained as a contribution to the history of mathematics education a first history of the institution built from the perspective of Mathematics discipline, the statements and their intersections with sources, such as the Book Author's Mathematics Course Jairo Manoel Bezerra (1960).
