Description
Summary:A historiographic consensus regarding the configuration of political spaces based on the jurisdiction of the colonial cities in the period following the dissolution of the Provincias Unidas del Río de la Plata exists by now. In that context, the elimination of the cabildos was essential since it allowed the executives finally acquiring the function of Police previously performed by those. By using that function as an approach, it can be possible to analyse how a less declaratory governmental office was shaped progressively, in the jurisdictional sense of respecting and reproducing an unattainable order through a government of judges, together with a more political-administrative one, since it founded the capacity of intervention over social life in terms of obtaining public benefit.
