Description
Summary:The Chinese “New Normal” economic model is a national strategy for adapting to sustainable development and offers important implications for the development of new economies. The “New Normal” economic model aims at improving the use efficiency of land resources in the framework of sustainable development. A discussion of the spatio-temporal evolution of land resource use efficiency (LRUE) in urban built-up areas can help in better assessing LRUE. In this paper, the super-efficiency slack-based measure (Super-SBM) method and spatial econometric models are used to study 281 prefecture-level cities in China between 2004 and 2020. Further, this paper explores the relationship between economic agglomeration and LRUE, which is of great value in managing land resources. The results show that there is a spatial spillover in LRUE and a U-shaped relationship between it and economic agglomeration.
