| Summary: | : This paper aims to examine the strategic role of paratextual elements (in
particular, covers, illustrations and prefaces) in dictionaries of film and cinema. From the difference
between lexicography and dictionary work, we created the compound word “cine-dictionnairique” in
order to propose a kind of scientific analysis of a large and composite area, such as the dictionaries
of cinema’s field. In particular, our goal will be to reflect on the paratext, as a key component of
these books, to reveal their structural characteristics, their functional nature and their intrinsic
purposes. |
