Description
Summary:Global and regional seismic attenuation models reveal anelastic heterogeneous structures in the earth, which shed new light on the temperature, melt and volatile fraction of Earth's interior, as well as the geodynamic processes and source focal mechanisms. In recent years, substantial progresses have been made in the theory and applications of attenuation tomography, including surface-wave and ambient-noise attenuation tomography, body-wave attenuation tomography, regional-phase and coda-wave attenuation tomography, and full-wave attenuation tomography. Based on this review, we list the points to be solved and the development prospect of seismic attenuation tomography in the future.
