Description
Summary:The paper presents the availability of lands for agriculture and the aquatic areas per villages, given their importance for local economy and for villagers’ livelihoods. The local economy in the D.D.B.R. villages, the living of the villagers, are based on exploitation of natural resources available in the area; out of these, fishing, cattle breeding and agriculture on allotments of variable extent stand out as the most important, contributing to the household resilience. There are notable differences concerning the availability of agricultural lands per villages, and also the structure of agricultural land use (arable lands, familial gardens, natural meadows, permanent crops) is quite different from one village to another.
