Summary: | The review discusses nutrition in cancer patients, gives the mechanisms of development of protein-energy deficiency, and describes the ways and methods of determining the severity of this condition. This type of deficiency is shown to result in the development of postoperative complications and timely nutritional support reduces the time of treatment and the number of complications.
