Summary: | The article proves the need for participation of enterprises in the preservation
of health of employees. There revealed causes of the increasing role
of employers’ social responsibility in health protection of employees, in
particular: peculiarities of the state property privatization in Ukraine; a new
concept of protection of public health; employers’ interest in healthy workforce;
the healthcare policy in Ukraine with respect to the lack of resources.
There formulated the author’s definition of the essence of employers’ social
responsibility for preservation of health of employees: social responsibility
of employers for the preservation of health of employees is the willingness
and ability of the organization to create a system of legal, socio-economic,
organizational and technical, sanitary and hygienic, medical and prophylactic
measures and means aimed at preservation of life, health and man’s
performance capability during the labor activity. The forms of employers’
participation in health promotion have been determined. One of such forms,
in the author’s opinion, can be a health service at the workplace. There has
been made a conclusion about the need for the institutionalization of social
responsibility of employers, i.e., the creation of conditions under which employers
would follow certain social standards established both at the national
and international level. Preconditions and future directions of the development
of employers’ social responsibility in Ukraine have been determined. |
