description This article aims to critically analyze the genre didactic reportage in the magazine Nova Escola between 2006 and 2010. The corpus is composed of 15 pieces of didactic reportage aiming at the popularization of the knowledge on teaching textual production in elementary education. The texts were analyzed under the perspective of Genre Analysis, especially under the socio-rhetorical perspective (SWALES, 1990, 1998; BAZERMAN, 2006, 2009) and Metadiscourse (HYLAND, 2005). The results point to four rhetorical moves aimed at the didactization of a particular content and its subsequent application in the classroom. The metadiscursive strategies used to express the position of the journalist can be summarized as: 1) attenuators; 2) highlighters; 3) attitudinal; 4) self-mention and 5) markers of attention. Therefore, the operators used reinforce the purpose of the magazine and of the discursive genre that is the directive guidance of the contents and methodologies disclosed to its readers.
