Summary: | Severe untreated hypothyroidism has been shown to affect cardiovascular function. While there have been a few reports of life-threatening arrhythmias occurring as a direct result of the hypothyroid state, very few cases of cardiac arrest have been reported in the literature. We report one such case of a middle-aged man who suffered a cardiac arrest that was attributed to severe untreated hypothyroidism.
