Summary: | This study seeks to answer the question of how light has been manifested in Iranian miniature and if this kind of embodiment is related to the Iranian philo-sophical insight about the divine lights and the kingdom of heaven. In order to find an answer to this question, at first, Iranian intellectual, philosophical and intuitive schools with respect to light are explained in light of their transposition dates (Mazdaean, Manichean, Islamic and mystical lines of thinking). While dis-cussing each of these schools with reference to written documents, we examine the symbolic effects of the realization of these concepts in Iranian miniature. Also, characteristics of the kingdom of heaven and its relation to the world of miniature are studied.
