| description | By studying of literature beyond the borders of Serbian medieval state, as the author says, we are entering the depth of the spiritual tradition; Byzantine's thought and art. Through the literature of the Middle of Podunavlje, its themes and ideas, poetic forms and artistic technique, essential features of the Serbian spiritual poetry are appearing. Holiness as a category of spiritual life is poetically described by literal procedures and elements inherited from the Old Serbian literature - by elements of hymnography spiritual fundaments of the personality are created. Spiritual deed, martyrdom, and suffering reveal the essence of the cross-like life leading to the salvation. Poetry is to be the most important in the literal creativity of the Middle of Podunavlje - religious poems dedicated to the Serbian saints. Through the verses of moral-pious content, and Gospel's principles how to get rid soul from the evil and sin, relationship toward personality is being created. In the time of the greatest blooming of the Serbian spiritual poetry it can be noticed how poets were using old exemplars through which universal values of Byzantine's civilization were appearing. By telling that deed leads personality to live pursuant to the Gospel's holy secrets and virtues, one iconography of the personality is created. Here a spiritual portrait is created since each corporal activity is seen in the complex of the soul transformation: how much these procedures influence the movement of life by road which is led by God-educated Saint Fathers. So far researches of this poetry have not shown interest for these values reveal. The main reason for wrong interpretation of this spiritual poetry or not taking into account real spiritual values, was ideological level of the author. Thus point of view regarding valorisation of this poetry must be shifted in order to realize that such poetry carries its highest value from the sources of Christianity. Only researches fitted with Gospel's principles and methods are able to reveal how Gospel's Truth is transferred in its antiquity and comprehension. |
