Description
Summary:Bulgarian medieval Philosophy and Natural Sciences were of great significance for the development of the natural sciences of the Orthodox Slavs and in the Balkan countries: Serbia, Russia, Wallachia and Moldova. After the Ottoman conquest of Bulgaria, many valuable Bulga¬rian manuscripts were taken out of the country and many Bulgarian scho¬lars, grammarians and clerics were sent into exile. This article presents the spread of the natural sciences in the Principalities of Wallachia and Moldova by the preserved manuscripts and translations of Greek and Bulgarian works, such as “Physiologus”, “Hexaemeron” by Severianus of Cabala, Symeon’s “Miscellany”, (“Izbornik Svyatoslava” 1073), Erotapokriseis, etc.
