| Summary: | In this article, the author reflects the strategic goals, principles and objectives of the pharmaceutical industry, the situation in the industry, the industry's problems, methods and ways of solving these problems. The focus is on the methodological bases for the formation of sound and sustainable development of the pharmaceutical industry in Russia. The analysis of the economic and organizational challenges of sustainable development modern pharmaceutical industry is presented. The introduction of new innovative investment concept of the pharmaceutical industry is proposed. We consider the level of competitiveness in the national pharmaceutical industry and mechanisms for sustainable and innovative development of the industry.
