Spectral element discretization of the time-dependent Stokes problem with nonstandard boundary conditions

Abstract This work deals with the spectral element discretization of the time-dependent Stokes problem in two- and three-dimensional domains. The boundary condition is defined on the normal component of the velocity and the tangential components of the vorticity. The discretization related to the ti...

description Abstract This work deals with the spectral element discretization of the time-dependent Stokes problem in two- and three-dimensional domains. The boundary condition is defined on the normal component of the velocity and the tangential components of the vorticity. The discretization related to the time variable is processed by a Backward Euler method. We prove through a detailed numerical analysis the well-posedness of the full discrete problem.
