Summary: | The city of Guadalajara had ten parish churches in the 19th century, besides fourteen convents and a large number of other religious buildings that made the religious function one of the most important activity in the city.
Most of the religious architectural heritage was lost due to confiscation, suppression of parishes, war and neglect.
One of these missing buildings was the old parish church of Santiago. We can approach the architecture and construction of this building with graphic documents preserved, but mainly due to a Jenaro Pérez Villaamil´s freehand sketch. |
