Study of the gas driven water rivulet flow regimes in the minichannels

The paper deals with the experimental study of the gas (nitrogen) driven rivulet flow regimes of water outflowing from the nozzle with a width of 10 mm into minichannel with the height of 1.6±0.02 mm and a width of 30 mm. Description
Summary:The paper deals with the experimental study of the gas (nitrogen) driven rivulet flow regimes of water outflowing from the nozzle with a width of 10 mm into minichannel with the height of 1.6±0.02 mm and a width of 30 mm. The authors revealed a new flow regime – namely “rivulet bridge” whose occurrence is attributed to the influence of relatively large static wetting angle of water on the flow regimes. The paper presents a map of the various rivulet flow regimes characterized by different surface geometry and types of surface deformations.
