description | Religious diversity is sunnatullah, something that is given. As well as the
diversity in language, culture and the like. It is recognized by al-Quran clearly. For
that al-Quran has given instructions to his people in addressing religious diversity in
form two clear and unequivocal manner. That is the attitude Exclusive (al-inghilaq) in
things that are aqidah (belief) and ‘ubudiah (worship) and inclusive attitude (alinfitah)
in the realm of socially interactive. In the applicative level, the teachings of
Islam which is sourced to al-Quran and Sunnah has taught his people how to live side
by side with members of different communities faith. Medina Charter is among the
historical evidence of how Islam since the beginning wantrealization inter-religious
harmony. In the context on Indonesia, noble values al-Quran can be developed in
order uphold various pillars that need to be agreed together and actualized to build
inter-religious harmony. Among these pillars is to improve the correct tolerance, mutual
respect with full religious attitudes in certain maturity, increased cooperation in matters
of religion become destination together, without having to mutual suspicion and
strengthen the three pillars of state (Pancasila, UUD 45 and Unity in Diversity).

Keragaman beragama merupakan sunnatullah, sesuatu yang sifatnya given.
Sebagai halnya keragaman dalam bahasa, suka dan budaya.Hal ini diakui oleh Al-
Quran secara jelas.Untuk itu,Al-Quran telah memberikan petunjuk kepada umatnya
dalam menyikapi keragaman beragama dalam wujud dua sikap yang jelas dan
tegas.Yaitu sikapeksklusif (al-inghilaq) dalam hal-hal yang bersifat aqidah dan ‘ubudiah
dan sikap Inklusif (al-infitah) dalam ranah sosial interaktif.Dalam tataran aplikatif,
ajaran Islam yang bersumber kepada Al-Quran dan as-Sunnah telah mengajarkan
kepada umatnya bagaimana hidup berdampingan dengan anggota masyarakat yang
berbeda kenyakinan. PiagamMadinah adalah diantara bukti sejarah bagaimana Islam
sejak awal menginginkan terwujutnya kerukunan antarumat beragama.Dalam konteks
ke-Indonesia-an, nilai-nilai luhur Al-Quran tersebut dapat dikembangkan dalam rangka
mengakkan berbagai pilar yang perlu disepakati bersamadan diaktualisasikan untuk
membangun kerukunan antarumat beragama.Diantara pilar-pilar tersebut adalah
dengan meningkatkan sikap toleran yang benar, saling menghormati dengan penuhsikap kedewasan dalam beragama, meningkatkan kerjasama dalam hal-hal yang menjadi
tujuaan bersama dalam beragama, tanpa harus saling mencurigai dan memperkokoh
tiga pilar kenegaraan (Pancasila, UUD 45 dan Bineka Tunggal Ika).
