description Power system's performance is greatly affected by power systems failure which cause undue power interruptions to customers and industries. This hugely affects economic growth and development. Energy audit and power distribution systems reliability assessment helps as an early indicator to equipment outages and power systems interruptions. This study presents the results of the power distribution system reliability assessment for Arba Minch distribution system of Secha Feeder. This study aimed to improve the existing power systems unreliability. To improve the reliability of the system, smart reclosers technology was used. The Electrical Transient Analysis Program (ETAP) software was used to verify the results which show great improvement using reliability indices such as SAIFI, CAIFI, CAIDI, and ASAI.
