| description | Since the division of Korea in 1945, the Korean reunification has been one of the most strategic issues in two Koreas. It is crucial not only for the security and the evolution of these two societies, but also for the stability and the prosperity of the North-East Asia as a whole. For more than half a century, several reunification scenarios have been presented, but each scenario contains its own limitations and shortcomings, and the tension still persists on the Korean Peninsula. In this article, our aim is to examine various arguments and viewpoints on the Korean reunification and find a more feasible scenario. There are three basic scenarios: the absorption scenario without consensus between the two parties, the absorption scenario with a consensus between two parties, and the evolutional integration scenario. Through this examination, we will evaluate the limitations and shortcomings of existing scenarios and propose the most feasible scenario. We think that the most feasible is the evolutional integration scenario of reunification. |
