Alternative Origin of Galactic Positrons Generated by Ultraperipheral Collisions of Cosmic Rays
We suggest a new alternative model of positron origin in the Galaxy. It is shown in our model that interactions of the electromagnetic fields of colliding ions (ultraperipheral ion collisions) can contribute to the total production of Galactic positrons.
