description | The derivatives of isoindolines show different biological activity in vitro and in vivo and it is hopeful that some of the compounds of this group will develop into new efficient drugs for different types of diseases in the future. They are present in many natural and synthetic, biologically active compounds, which have been reported to possess psycho-stimulant, analgesic, anti-inflammatory, antipyretic, antihypertensive, antifungal, and antitumor properties. Metal complexes of isondoline derivatives act as inhibitors of protein kinase and catalase. Among different biological activity, isoindoline derivatives also show activity against tumor cells of leukemia and are active on colon, epidermal and ovarian cancer. They also inhibit a number of enzymes responsible for cancer cell reproduction, such as histone deacetylase, tyrosine kinase receptor, and vascular endothelial growth factor receptor (VEGF-R2). |
