Summary:Various psychosocial factors play a vital role in mental health. India's rich cultural, traditional, and social value system is well-known throughout the world. However, a considerable proportion of women are disadvantaged in these systems, and as a result, they are more likely to experience a significant psychosocial burden that affects their physical, mental, social, and spiritual well-being. These psychosocial burden also have an impact on their quality of life, personal well-being, and some fundamental human rights. In the light of the current Indian situation, this narrative review depicts the psychosocial burden that a significant proportion of Indian women are likely to face.
