Summary:This article is the result of a reflective academic process, of a review of the literature on social movements and organizations in Latin America, with special attention in the Colombian process, of how collective memories have allowed to create periods and moments of study, in relation to the rights and the forms of vindication that result from the configurations of various subjects, which are shaped by the forms of governments and the realities existing in the consolidation of a State, sustained by the demand, demand and democratic expansion, where social organizations and social movements become in the process of demanding, and consolidation of a collective memory is aware of the ways to influence society.
