description The number of patients diagnosed with aphasia after stroke or traumatic brain injury is constantly increasing. However, it appears that for many persons intensive outpatient speech therapy is unavailable for various reasons. Telerehabilitation could offer a possible solution of this dismal situation. Abroad, this form of rehabilitation is a relatively common alternative to traditional face-to-face therapy, while in the Czech Republic we just get acquainted with this term. The article offers an overview of current possibilities of synchronous and asynchronous telerehabilitation systems that can be applied in aphasia.
