Description
Summary:The territories of the Magdalena River basin are currently undergoing changes, transformations, and socioeconomic impacts as a result of mega-development projects for navigability and the construction of hydroelectric projects. Applying the concept of Fluvial Culture, this text presents the adaptation process of two artisanal fishing settlements located in the region known as Salto de Honda in the Upper Magdalena province: the village of Puerto Bogotá (in the township of Guaduas, Cundinamarca) and the township of Honda (Tolima). It proposes the option of adopting a perspective of socioecological systems, which makes it possible to carry out integrated assessment of the territory and joint (inhabitants and governmental entities) construction of alternatives that consider the impacts of intervention on both the ecosystem and the culture.
