Materials and methods. On the base of published materials the work disclosed the main sources of failure occurred in operation. The conclusions evaluate and explain specific groups of failures. Results and conclusions. The most usual aero engine failures in operation are human factor and malfunction. The work results may be applied to analysis of specific failures within a set of malfunctions, development of new products and creation of the reliability ensuring programs.
