Description
Summary:In this study, effect of steel fiber type and content on the mechanical properties of fiber concrete in bending and compression was investigated. In the production of concrete series, four different aggregates which have in 22 mm max. diameter were used. Cement content and water/cement ratio were kept at 325 kg/m3 and 0.60, respectively. In mixes, totally ten different series were produced as in two different fiber types at 60 and 80 aspect ratio, and five different fiber contents at 0 (control), 15, 30, 45 and 60 kg/m3. For define to mechanical properties of fiber concretes in bending and compression, Ø150 x 300 mm. cylindrical specimens and 100x100x350 mm. prismatic specimens were used. Stress-strain behavior in compression and flexure strength in bending were defined on the cylindrical and prismatic specimens, respectively. As a result, it was observed that the stress-strain in compression and flexure strength of concrete were increased by adding of fibers in the concrete.
