Summary:Bride Trafficking is an evil that is prevalent in the society since long and it can be stated to be a crime against humanity as it violates the rights, dignity and the liberty of the victims involved. Bride Trafficking is so deep rooted in the society and it is very difficult to provide accurate figures because many a times it becomes impossible to trace the cases of Bride trafficking. Inter State trafficking for the purpose of marriage is prevalent in India and the author has also done a case study by interviewing 50 women from state of Haryana in India. trafficked women undergo a lot of atrocities and many a times they are raped during the transit and further raped by the husband and all his male family members. Apart from this they have to face domestic violence and the treatment given to them is worse than that of slaves and many a times they are trafficked multiple times. The reasons for trafficking can be poverty, female feticide, female infanticide, illiteracy, dowry etc. In this paper the author will discuss bride trafficking,   Reasons for bride trafficking  and Human Rights Violation faced by these trafficked brides and potential solution of this illicit trade.
