description The main goal of this paper is to analyze the determinants of the individual employment condition. Using data from the demographic censuses of 2000 and 2010 (IBGE) we estimate multinomial models to verify to what extent the probability of employment of similar individuals varies from a region to another. The results of the models show that the more developed is a region, the more complex is the labor insertion. Despite of existing more labor opportunities in big cities, there are also more competition between individuals in these regions, especially because the new jobs are capital intensive.
