The twentieth century, in Sub-continental Islamic History, is known for different schools of thoughts about the authenticity of Hadith as a source of the Qur'anic explication and commentary. Much has been written to interpret the Qur'an in accordance with Hadith to help the sub-continent Muslim communities in their daily doings through the years. In the 19th and the 20. centuries, the Qur'an has been interpreted by thrce different Schools of thoughts. The first school of thought represents those who rejected the Hadith as a source. The second represents Hanafi school of thought who declare Hadith the secondry source of the Qur'anic explication. The third school of thought is known as Ahl-e-Hadith, who fully accept the Hadith as a source of the Qur'anic Explication. The present article deals with the Inferential Status of Hadith with special focus on the the three schools of thoughts mentioned above. |
