description The health of a kingdom depends on the health of the souvereign during the Middle Ages. That’s why people having to cure the prince’s body are more and more present in the royal court. Charles VII’s doctors in medicine, surgeons, apothecaries need to be studied again by researches in dispatched sources in order to understand how worked the « medical system » of the french court in the middle of the 15th century. After trying to know the number of queen’s and king’s medical staff, their origins and their cursus will be explored, then their activities, their wages et the dangers of their job. Belonging to a flexible medical court system, most of the king’s healers seem to have enjoyed his generosity, his confidence and his affection, while he could have been suspicious against any others. He fell into their clutches in the end of his life.
