Summary:The aim of this study was to determine the relationship between help seeking and self-determination and flourishing with the mediation of academic engagement by correlational method. For this purpose, from the statistical population of public high school students in Tehran, who were studying in the academic year 2019-20, a sample of 539 students were selected by cluster random sampling and responded to Help seeking questionnaire (Ryan and Pentrich ,1997), academic engagement (Schaufeli and Bakker ,2006), Basic Self-Determination Needs (Deci, and Ryan ,1993) And Flourishing Scale (Diner et al,2008). Data were analyzed using SPSS-23 and AMOS-23 software. The results showed that the structural model of help seeking based on self-determination and flourishing with the mediating role of academic engagement had a good fit with data. there is a significant relationship between self-determination, flourishing, academic engagement, with help seeking. Academic engagement also played a mediating role in predicting help seeking based on self-determination. The mediating role of academic engagement in predicting help-seeking based on flourishing was not significant. According to the results of the present study, it can be said that the rate of students help seeking is predicted directly based on self-determination and flourishing and indirectly based on students' academic Engagement.
