Summary: | The hospitalization is not an agreeable experience, being worsened if surgical intervention becomesnecessary. When the surgery is suspended, the person is subject to a larger discomfort, which can generate moreanguish. The objective of this study was to identify the generating factors of expressed feelings for patients afterthe surgical cancellation. It is a descriptive research and qualitative approach, accomplished at a public hospitalwith patients that had their surgeries canceled. Data was collected by interviews which results were submitted tothe thematic analysis. The results showed that the generating factors of feelings comes from to the patient'semotions and the operation of institution, being those last ones more frequent.
