Description
Summary:In this paper we aimed to present our 33-year-old male case that underwent operation due to prosthetic mitral valve dehiscence secondary to infective endocarditis developed 7 months after its implantation. Generally, cases with prosthetic mitral valve dehiscence due to infective endocarditis should be electively operated whenever they could tolerate surgery hemodynamically and in terms of laboratory parameters except for emergency indications. We think that the success of surgery would increase by stabilizing the hemodynamic and laboratory parameters promptly. For this purpose Cofact® (prothrombin complex concentrate) may be used to reverse extreme INR values when this cannot be achieved by fresh frozen plasma.
